When Will Federal University of Technology Babura (FUTB) Start Giving Admission? [Updated 2026]

Federal University of Technology, Babura (FUTB) in Jigawa State is one of Nigeria’s newest federal universities of technology. Many candidates who applied for the 2025/2026 session are eagerly waiting and asking: When will FUTB start giving admission?

As of March 2026, FUTB has commenced releasing admission lists for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Current Admission Status (March 2026)

  • First Batch Admission List: Released in late January 2026 on JAMB CAPS.
  • Second Batch: Released in mid-February 2026.
  • Third Batch / Supplementary List: Currently ongoing and expected to continue through March and April 2026.
  • Final JAMB Deadline: All admissions must be completed by 28 February 2026, though some extensions are sometimes granted.

FUTB is releasing batches gradually. Courses with higher competition (such as Computer Science, Cyber Security, Mechanical Engineering, and Electrical Engineering) usually appear in the earlier batches, while less competitive programmes come out later.

What You Should Do Now

  1. Check your JAMB CAPS regularly (at least twice daily).
  2. Ensure your O’Level results are uploaded and verified on JAMB CAPS.
  3. Monitor your email and SMS for notifications from FUTB.
  4. If your status shows “Not Admitted” but you meet the cut-off, remain hopeful — supplementary lists are still being released.
  5. If your preferred course is not offered, you may change to another available programme before the JAMB change window closes.

School Fees & Acceptance Fee

Once admitted, you are required to pay the acceptance fee quickly to secure your admission:

  • Acceptance Fee (Freshers): ₦30,000 – ₦40,000 (non-refundable)
  • School Fees (Indigenes): ₦60,000 – ₦95,000 per session
  • School Fees (Non-Indigenes): ₦80,000 – ₦130,000 per session

Hostel accommodation is separate and ranges from ₦15,000 to ₦35,000 per session.

Final Advice

Keep checking your JAMB CAPS portal every day, especially in the evenings when new lists are often uploaded. FUTB is still a young university, so the admission process may take a bit longer than older institutions.
