When Will Federal University Lokoja Start Giving Admission? [Updated 2025/2026]

Federal University Lokoja (FULokoja) is one of the newer federal universities in Nigeria, and it has become a popular choice for students in the North-Central region. If you are waiting anxiously for the admission list or checking JAMB CAPS every hour, you are not alone. Many applicants are asking the same question right now: when will FULokoja start giving admission for the 2025/2026 session?

As of late December 2025, FULokoja has already released the first batch of admission lists. The university began posting names on JAMB CAPS around mid-November 2025, and the second batch followed shortly after. The process is moving in stages, which is standard for most federal universities. The first batch usually covers candidates with very high JAMB scores and strong post-UTME performance. Later batches include those with slightly lower scores but who still meet departmental cut-off marks.

The official Post-UTME screening for 2025/2026 ended in late October 2025. Since then, the admissions office has been working through verification, quota allocation, and merit ranking. According to updates from the university’s admissions portal and JAMB’s own timeline, FULokoja is expected to complete the bulk of its admission releases by the end of January 2026. Some supplementary lists may still drop in February 2026, especially for courses that remain under-subscribed.

Here is a quick timeline based on the current pattern:

  • First batch: Released mid-November 2025
  • Second batch: Late November to mid-December 2025
  • Third batch (if needed): January 2026
  • Final supplementary list: February 2026
  • JAMB admission deadline for all universities: February 28, 2026

If your status on CAPS still says “Not Admitted” after checking multiple times, do not panic yet. Many candidates receive their admission letter in the second or third batch. Keep your phone close and ensure your email and phone number on the JAMB profile are active, because FULokoja sends notifications through CAPS and sometimes via SMS.

For those who have been admitted, the next steps are straightforward. Pay the acceptance fee (currently ₦30,000–₦35,000 depending on the programme) within the stipulated period, usually two weeks after receiving the offer. After that, proceed to clearance and registration. The school fees for 2025/2026 range from ₦120,000 to ₦180,000 per session for fresh students, depending on the course and whether you are an indigene.

A quick tip: if your preferred course is not offered in the current batch, consider changing to another programme within the same faculty before the JAMB change window closes. FULokoja often admits from the waiting list for courses like Microbiology, Computer Science, and Economics.

The university has been consistent with its admission calendar in recent years, so the February 2026 deadline is very realistic. Keep checking your JAMB CAPS regularly, especially after every major batch release announcement on the FULokoja website or official social media pages.
