When Will Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA) Start Giving Admission? Updated Guide 2026

Federal University Lokoja (FULOKOJA), established in 2011 as one of Nigeria’s nine new federal universities, continues to grow as a key institution in Kogi State. Located in Lokoja, the confluence town of the Niger and Benue rivers, FULOKOJA offers programmes in arts, sciences, social sciences, management, education, and health sciences.

The university follows the national admission process regulated by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB). Admissions involve UTME or Direct Entry applications, Post-UTME screening, and merit-based selection via JAMB’s Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).

Prospective students eagerly await admission lists, as they mark the start of clearance, acceptance fee payment, and registration.

The admission timeline at FULOKOJA aligns with JAMB’s calendar for federal universities. For the 2025/2026 academic session, JAMB UTME occurred earlier in 2025, followed by Post-UTME registration. The university opened its Post-UTME screening portal on Monday, July 28, 2025, and extended the deadline to around mid-September 2025 (with some sources noting September 12 or 14, 2025). This online point-based screening replaced physical exams due to economic and security considerations. Eligible candidates uploaded O’Level results on JAMB CAPS, paid the screening fee of ₦2,000, and participated via the portal at fulokoja.edu.ng

Admission lists typically begin rolling out after screening completion and JAMB approval. For 2025/2026, some reports indicated the first batch or admission offers started around early January 2025 in prior patterns, but for the current cycle, evidence points to releases beginning in late 2025 or early 2026. Fresh students’ registration and clearance processes followed the offers on JAMB CAPS. The university scheduled its 14th matriculation ceremony for Friday, January 30, 2026, at 4:00 pm on the College of Health Sciences campus.

This event confirms that admitted students from the 2025/2026 cycle had received offers, completed acceptance (around ₦20,000 in past sessions), and prepared for academic activities by early 2026.

Looking ahead to the 2026/2027 session, JAMB registration for UTME and Direct Entry opens around late January 2026 (possibly January 31) and closes in early March 2026. The UTME exam follows shortly after. Federal universities like FULOKOJA usually announce Post-UTME forms between May and July, with screening in July–September. Admission lists then emerge in batches from September to October or November 2026, allowing matriculation by late 2026 or early 2027. Delays can occur due to policy changes, verification exercises, or high application volumes, but FULOKOJA maintains a steady pace.

To check your admission status once the lists are released, start with JAMB CAPS at efacility.jamb.gov.ng. Log in, accept the offer if available, and print your letter. Then visit fulokoja.edu.ng, navigate to the admissions portal, confirm status, pay acceptance fees via Remita, and proceed to clearance with documents like O’Level results, JAMB result slip, birth certificate, and indigene certificate (if applicable). Prompt action prevents forfeiture, as offers expire if not accepted within deadlines (often 48 hours).

Tips for success include choosing FULOKOJA as your first choice, scoring above the general cut-off (typically 160–180, higher for competitive courses), uploading results early, and monitoring the official website. Avoid scams—admissions occur only through official channels. The university warns against impostors promising assistance.

FULOKOJA started giving admissions for the 2025/2026 session progressively from late 2025 into early 2026, culminating in matriculation on January 30, 2026. For the next cycle (2026/2027), expect offers from September 2026 onward. Stay updated via fulokoja.edu.ng, JAMB portals, or reliable sites like myschool.ng. With preparation and patience, admission remains achievable at this dynamic federal university.
