Admission Requirements for 2026
You need a minimum JAMB UTME score of 140 to be eligible for screening. Competitive programmes such as Medicine and Surgery (if introduced), Pharmacy, and Nursing usually require 220 or higher. You must have five O’Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct entry admission is available for candidates with ND, NCE, or IJMB qualifications. Post-UTME screening is compulsory for all applicants. The university conducts the screening in two batches, typically July/August and September/October.
Why Maranatha University Lagos Is Worth Considering in 2026
Maranatha University is still small, which means smaller class sizes, easier access to lecturers, and a more personalised learning experience. The university has modern laboratories, a functional library, and a strong emphasis on character development alongside academics. The faith-based environment appeals to students who want a campus where Christian values are openly practised. Graduates from Nursing, Pharmacy, and Computer Science programmes have started securing placements in hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, and tech firms in Lagos and Abuja.
If you are looking for a private university that is not overcrowded, has a clear Christian identity, and focuses on sciences, health, and management, Maranatha University Lagos is a realistic option. The admission process is straightforward, and spaces are still available for most programmes in 2026.
