The Federal Polytechnic, Ugep, Cross River State, is one of six new polytechnics established by Nigeria’s Federal Government. Our mandate is to develop graduates (National Diploma/Higher National Diploma) who can compete favorably in the global employment market in technology, science, and management. The institution is conveniently located in Cross River State’s Central Senatorial District, which has a high population and vast amounts of rich land. We have currently purchased 200 hectares of land for the permanent site and an additional 65 hectares for agricultural initiatives.
Ugep, where the school is located, is easily accessible from three state capitals: Calabar (Cross River), Uyo (Akwa Ibom), and Abakaliki (Ebonyi State). As a new school, significant infrastructure development is required, including an administrative complex, laboratories/workshops, student hostels, medical facilities, a library/ICT complex, faculty buildings, staff offices, and staff apartments. While the federal government is willing and ready to fund these projects, we would encourage local, national, and international partnership for a successful launch. Our primary focus is on renewable energy and agricultural technology.
The Polytechnic’s vision is to create an international quality polytechnic focused on academic excellence and the acquisition of skills in technology, science, and management.
