Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Courses Offered [Updated 2026]

If you’re searching for a solid, affordable state university in the South-East, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) — formerly Anambra State University — keeps popping up on every shortlist. For the 2026 session, COOU is running over 70 NUC-accredited courses across its Uli, Igbariam and Awka campuses, and the best part? They’ve added a few fresh ones while keeping fees low (₦50,000–₦90,000 for most programmes). Whether you’re gunning for Medicine, Law, Engineering or something less crowded like Igbo Language or Theatre Arts, there’s probably a slot for you.

I pulled the latest list straight from the university portal and the NUC database so you’re not working with 2020 rumours.

COOU might not have the flashy PR of some federal universities, but walk around Uli or Igbariam and you’ll see serious labs, a teaching hospital in Awka, and alumni quietly running things in banks, oil companies, banks and even Nollywood.

Thinking of applying? Grab the latest brochure at coou.edu.ng or the JAMB portal when 2026 registration opens (usually January).

Which COOU course is on your list — Medicine, Law, Computer Science, or something totally different? Drop it in the comments, let’s talk cut-offs and prep tips!
