UNIBEN Admission Requirements For Undergraduates

There are two routes for gaining admission to UNIBEN. You can utilize either the UTME or straight entry option. Whatever method of admission you pick, you must ensure that you are well-qualified for your desired program. All candidates must meet the comprehensive prerequisites listed below in order to study at the University of Benin (UNIBEN).

UTME Requirements for UNIBENĀ 

To be considered for admission to the University of Benin (UNIBEN), candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • JAMB First Choice: When registering for JAMB, all candidates must select the University of Benin as their first choice institution.
  • Change of Institution: If an applicant did not initially choose UNIBEN, they can request a change of institution through JAMB.
  • Cut-off mark: Admission requires a minimum JAMB score of 200. Competitive courses, such as law, medicine, and pharmacy, may require higher scores.
  • O’level Requirements: Candidates must have at least five credit passes in relevant O’level subjects, such as Mathematics and English. These credits should be achieved in two sessions or less. For extremely competitive courses such as law, medicine, and pharmacy, all needed topics must be completed in a single sitting.
  • Age Requirement: Candidates must be at least 16 years old when applying for admission.

Direct Entry Requirements for UNIBENĀ 

Candidates applying for Direct Entry admission to the University of Benin (UNIBEN) must meet the following requirements:

  • O’level Requirements: A minimum of five credit passes in applicable O’level courses, including Mathematics and English, taken at no more than two sittings.
  • Advanced Qualifications: Candidates must have an approved Higher National Diploma (HND), Nigeria Certificate of Education (NCE), or a relevant degree from a recognized institution.
  • Candidates must register and apply through the JAMB Direct Entry Portal.
