Accredited Courses Offered at Federal Polytechnic Ayede [Updated 2026]

Federal Polytechnic Ayede, located in Ogbomoso, Oyo State, is one of Nigeria’s newest federal polytechnics. The institution received its take-off license in 2023 and has quickly established itself as a practical, industry-focused school. For the 2026 academic session, the polytechnic offers a carefully selected range of ND and HND accredited courses across three schools. All programmes are fully approved by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). This updated list comes directly from the polytechnic’s official portal and NBTE records as of December 2025.

Federal Polytechnic Ayede currently runs eight National Diploma (ND) programmes. The school plans to introduce more HND options in the coming years as infrastructure expands. The focus remains on engineering, science, and management fields that meet local and national industry needs. Fees are very reasonable for a federal polytechnic—currently between ₦45,000 and ₦65,000 per session for ND students. Acceptance fee for freshers is ₦20,000. Here is the complete list of accredited courses offered.

School of Engineering Technology

  • Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology
  • Computer Engineering Technology
  • Mechanical Engineering Technology

School of Science and Technology

  • Computer Science
  • Science Laboratory Technology
  • Statistics

School of Management and Business Studies

  • Accountancy
  • Business Administration and Management

These eight programmes form the core of Federal Polytechnic Ayede’s academic offering in 2026. Each ND programme runs for two years (four semesters). Students who complete the ND with a minimum of Lower Credit can proceed to HND in the same or related fields once the polytechnic receives NBTE approval for HND in those courses.

Admission Requirements for 2026

You need a minimum JAMB UTME score of 100 to apply. However, competitive courses such as Computer Science and Electrical/Electronic Engineering usually require 140 or higher. You must have five O’Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct entry admission is available for ND holders with Upper Credit or Merit in related fields. Post-UTME screening is mandatory for all applicants. The polytechnic usually conducts the screening in two batches—July/August and September/October.

Why Federal Polytechnic Ayede Stands Out

The polytechnic is still young, but it already has modern workshops, well-equipped computer labs, and a functional library. The serene location in Ayede makes it peaceful for serious students. Lecturers are a mix of experienced academics and industry professionals. Graduates have started securing jobs in Oyo State government agencies, telecommunications companies, and private firms in Ibadan and Lagos. The school also offers industrial training placement assistance through its SIWES unit.

If you want a federal polytechnic that is not overcrowded, has manageable fees, and focuses strictly on technical and vocational education, Federal Polytechnic Ayede is worth considering. The admission process is transparent, and spaces are still available for most programmes.
