Accredited Courses Offered at UAES [Updated 2026]

University of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences (UAES), Umuagwo, Imo State, is one of Nigeria’s youngest specialised federal universities. Established in 2022, UAES focuses entirely on agriculture, environmental management, and related applied sciences. For the 2026 academic session, the university offers 32 fully NUC-accredited undergraduate programmes across six schools. All courses are listed on the official UAES portal and the National Universities Commission database as of December 2025. This guide provides the complete, up-to-date list of accredited courses offered at UAES, admission requirements, and key facts for prospective students.

UAES keeps tuition affordable for a federal university. Undergraduate fees range from ₦60,000 to ₦95,000 per session, depending on the programme and indigene status. The university also provides scholarships and bursaries for indigent students and those with excellent academic performance. The 2026 session introduces more emphasis on climate-smart agriculture and renewable energy technology. Below is the full list of accredited courses by school.

Admission Requirements for 2026

You need a minimum JAMB UTME score of 140 to be eligible for screening. Competitive programmes such as Veterinary Medicine, Computer Science, and Agricultural Engineering usually require 180 or higher. You must have five O-Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct entry admission is available for candidates with ND, NCE, or IJMB qualifications. Post-UTME screening is compulsory for all applicants. The university conducts the screening in two batches, typically July/August and September/October.

Why UAES Is Worth Considering in 2026

UAES is still small, which means smaller class sizes, easier access to lecturers, and less competition for hostel spaces. The university has modern laboratories, demonstration farms, and strong linkages with agricultural research institutes across Nigeria. Graduates are already securing employment in agribusiness firms, government extension services, and international NGOs. The peaceful environment in Umuagwo also helps students concentrate on their studies.

If you are looking for a federal university that is not overcrowded, has manageable fees, and focuses strictly on agriculture, environmental sciences, and engineering, UAES is a strong option. The admission process is transparent, and spaces are still available for most programmes in 2026.
