Accredited Courses Offered at ZAMSUT [Updated 2026]

Zamfara State University Talata Mafara (ZAMSUT) continues to grow steadily as one of the youngest state universities in Northern Nigeria. Established in 2018, the university has focused on delivering quality education in sciences, agriculture, and management while maintaining full accreditation from the National Universities Commission (NUC). For the 2026 academic session, ZAMSUT offers 28 undergraduate programmes across six faculties. All courses are fully accredited and listed on the official university portal and NUC database as of December 2025.

ZAMSUT keeps fees affordable for a state university, with undergraduate charges ranging from ₦60,000 to ₦90,000 per session, depending on the programme and indigene status. The university also provides scholarships and bursaries for indigent students and those with strong academic performance. Admission Requirements for 2026

You need a minimum JAMB UTME score of 140 to be eligible for screening. Competitive courses such as Computer Science, Accounting, and Microbiology usually require 180 or higher. You must have five O’Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct entry admission is available for candidates with ND, NCE, or IJMB qualifications. Post-UTME screening is compulsory for all applicants. The university normally conducts the screening in two batches, July/August and September/October.

Why ZAMSUT Stands Out in 2026

ZAMSUT is still relatively small, which means smaller class sizes, easier access to lecturers, and less competition for hostel spaces. The university has modern laboratories, a functional library, and active industrial training linkages with local government agencies and private firms in Zamfara and neighbouring states. Graduates often secure employment quickly in teaching, banking, agriculture, and state civil service. The serene environment in Talata Mafara also helps students stay focused on their studies.

If you are looking for a state university that is not overcrowded, has manageable fees, and emphasises science, agriculture, and education, ZAMSUT is worth serious consideration. The admission process is transparent, and spaces are still available for most programmes in 2026.
