Accredited Courses Offered at UAT [Updated 2026]

University of Africa Toru-Orua (UAT) in Bayelsa State is still one of Nigeria’s youngest federal universities, but it has already carved out a clear identity. The school focuses on practical, industry-relevant programmes that address local and national needs. For the 2026 academic session, UAT offers 35 fully NUC-accredited undergraduate courses across six faculties. All programmes are listed on the official university portal and the National Universities Commission database as of December 2025. This guide gives you the complete, up-to-date list without any outdated or unverified information.

UAT keeps fees affordable for a federal university—currently between ₦50,000 and ₦80,000 per session for most programmes. The institution prioritises science, agriculture, management, and social sciences. It also runs a strong entrepreneurship and skills acquisition centre that benefits every student. Admission Requirements for 2026

You need a minimum JAMB UTME score of 140 to be eligible for screening. Most competitive courses, such as Computer Science, Accounting, and Mass Communication, require 180 or higher. You must have five O’Level credits in relevant subjects, including English Language and Mathematics, in not more than two sittings. Direct entry admission is available for candidates with ND, NCE, or IJMB qualifications. Post-UTME screening is compulsory for all applicants. The university usually conducts the screening in two batches—July/August and September/October.

Why UAT Remains a Smart Choice in 2026

UAT is still relatively small, which means smaller class sizes, easier access to lecturers, and less competition for hostel spaces. The university has modern laboratories, a functional e-library, and active industrial training linkages with oil companies in the Niger Delta. Graduates often secure jobs in the public sector, private firms, and international NGOs within six months. The serene environment in Toru-Orua also helps students stay focused.

If you want a federal university that is not overcrowded, has manageable fees, and emphasises skills over theory, UAT deserves serious consideration. The admission process is transparent, and spaces are still open for most programmes in 2026.
