Imo State University has released the school fees for new students in 2025/2026, including indigenes and non-indigenes. This article is intended for students who have chosen Imo State University (IMSU) as their desired higher education institution.
Imo State University (IMSU) school fees for indigenes are significantly lower than those for non-indigenes; many have condemned this approach, yet it is common in other state universities. It is simply a technique of empowering and motivating youth to pursue university degrees.
The school fees have been set depending on the courses offered at IMSU and the faculties they belong to.
Management deemed it prudent to keep tuition fees affordable for both new and returning students. Although there was a modest change in school fees from the prior year.The following information is only intended for recently admitted students, prospective students who selected IMSU as their preferred institution during UTME registration, or prospective candidates who would like to inquire about IMSU’s tuition fee and other mandatory fees and charges that all freshmen must pay for the 2025–2026 academic year.
The fees due at Imo State University, as shown in the table below, include acceptance fee and tuition fee for freshers full-time students.

NOTE: The payment of these fees is in addition to the N19,500 paid by both indigenous and non-indigenous students. In addition to the delay, defaulters will be denied the opportunity to take the examination.
Following the dissemination of the above note, the University Bursary unit is expected to take steps to guarantee strict compliance as mandated by the Imo State University Council.
IMSU School Fees For Fresh Indigenes 2025/2026
In terms of IMSU school fees for indigenes, they are generally required to pay half of non-indigenes’ school fees, as shown above, but the additional payment of N19,500 for ancillary is intended for both indigenes and non-indigenes, and failure to do so will result in students being unable to sit for semester examinations.
